Maureen McPherson

I always enjoyed Art at school and won a prize at Sunday school. I did not pursue my interest until I retired 10 years ago after 40 years ago in nursing.

I was lucky enough to have Pat Sutherland as a teacher who introduced me to the Bon Accord Art Group, where I was a member for some years until the group was wound up due to the leader’s ill health. I meantime attend the Broomhill Art Group, and am pleased to be a member of the Forecourt Art Group.

I prefer watercolour as a painting medium as I like the translucent effect. I have also tried oil and acrylic painting.

I enjoy painting landscapes, flowers, birds and animals.

I have exhibited at Ferryhill and Peterculter and regularly exhibit at CRANES. I have sold my work and done commissions for people who are interested in my art work.

Two of my favourite artists are the local artists, Joseph Farquharson and William Dyce.
