Anita Inverarity Featured in Earthmonster Online Magazine

One of Anita’s most popular prints has came in the Top Ten in an online competition
celebrating 40 years of Woodstock. “Jimi” won a presitigious feature in a popular
online arts magazine Earth Monster Illustrated.

The winning image of Jimi Hendrix is available on Prints, Canvases, Art Cards and
T-Shirts at Anita’s Redbubble Store.

The original artwork is still available at £ 65 (framed) plus post and package.

Pearl Ozanne at Aboyne


One of the Forecourt’s most prolific artists, Pearl Ozanne is exhibiting at this year’s Aboyne Art Festival (Aboyne Church Hall).

A popular event which is attended by  visitors from all over Royal Deeside and beyond.

The Art Exhibition runs until the  4th of August 2009.

New exhibitions at Peacock Gallery

The Peacock Gallery in Aberdeen has two new exhibitions coming up:

  • Adam Barker-Mill – Colour Play  from 8 August  2009 to 19 September 2009

Famous for his beautiful installations experimenting with light, Adam Barker-Mill will transform the gallery into an enclosing dark space where the levels of brightness and saturation of contrasting or related colours undergo a continuously-evolving cyclic shift. A must-see!

  • William Moulding – from 8 August 2009 to 19 September 2009

William Moulding is showcasing his vibrant new prints produced during his one-year residency in the printmaking department at Gray’s School of Art. Rooted in drawing, the colourful works are playing with the tension between controlled and accidental results of the print and drawing process.

Wood-carving Courses

Whitespace are running wood carving workshops as part of their craftsmanship series.

For over 18s the courses run
14th to 16th July 2009, 10am to 12 noon and 1pm to 3pm
or

11th to 13th August 2009, 10am to 12 noon and 1pm to 3pm

For 15 to 18 year-olds they run
23rd & 30th July, 6th, 20th and 27th August, and 3rd and 10th September, all 1pm – 4pm.

These offer the chance to learn traditional wood carving techniques, meeting retired ship builders who will share their craft.

BBC One’s ‘The One Show’ are currently running a competition for the best piece of the viewer’s own artwork. To enter, you have to submit a photograph of your work no later than Wednesday 8th July 2009.
