My family returned to Aberdeen where I lived on a farm.

This inspired my painting which I have since enjoyed.

I lead a busy life with my dogs and my five grandchildren and I also play bridge.

I have done oil painting but my favourite medium is watercolour.

My favourite subjects are: snow scenes; buildings – especially old ones such as barns; street scenes; and maritime seascapes and boats.

I was born in the fishing village of Whitehills by Banff on the very edge of the sea.

I have exhibited at Portsoy, Banff, Banchory, Stonehaven, Inverbervie, Friockheim, New Pitsligo, Cornhill Hospital, Northern Arts and had a one man exhibition at Aboyne.

She has been a member of the Forecourt Art Group for the last 15 years.

She is an accomplished artist who paints in acrylics and oil / mixed media and draws with soft pastels.

She has exhibited her art in Scotland primarily including at the prestigious McEwen Gallery, Ballater, Aberdeenshire and is regularly invited to exhibit in many and varied locations.

She has a very varied portfolio and is happy to undertake commissions.

Having enjoyed Art & Engineering Drawing at school, I took up Art Classes following a sickness period prior to returning to work some years ago. I found it was a great way to switch myself off and become fully engrossed painting especially during the dark winter months.

I choose Watercolours to start although some say it is the most difficult. I have a particular interest in painting landscapes with especially fondness for winter scenes. Also buildings and boats that I guess stems from my engineering days at schools. My inspiration comes from photographs, magazine and newspaper pictures or even Christmas cards. I am willing to tackle most subjects apart from animals or portraits.

Over the years I have been commissioned by friends or through contacts to paint pictures for presents, a challenge I enjoy. I am currently painting Acrylics and have also done Oils in the past.

I studied at Elgin Academy, and in 1955 won the Saltire Society Silver Award for my portfolio.

In the late 1960s I exhibited for the first time at the Caithness Artists’ Exhibition. This led to several commissions – mainly in oils, but some in watercolour.

About 1986 I joined the Forecourt Art Group in Aberdeen. From then I was a regular exhibitor until recently.

I like painting in both oils and watercolour and have experimented with mixed media.

My favourite subjects are water, mountains, flowers and boats.

After leaving school I attended Gray’s School of Art where I studied Sculpture, Drawing and Painting.

My favourite subjects are landscapes, usually local scenes.

I often use mixed media (watercolour and pastels) and coloured pencils on draughting film.

I have exhibited with, and am a member of, the Forecourt Art Group.

My favourite medium is pastel and I love doing portraits, but I also paint in acrylic and sometime oil.  I like to explore new subjects, not altogether abstract, but a change from the usual landscapes, some of which are featured here.

I have exhibited at See, Salt & Sound Exhibition, McMillan Trust Exhibition, Acorn Gallery in Inverurie, Banchory Art Exhibition, The Hub at Cults, The Heritage Hall as part of Culter Gala Week, and Kelly’s Coffee Shop in Culter.

I recently joined the Forecourt Artists and find in the members kindred spirits, mostly retired folk like myself with a love of painting, a wealth of talent and time to devote to running the exhibitions.

I have exhibited in many venues, achieving second place in The Boston Art Exhibition – Certificate Awarded.

Some of my paintings / commissions are in private collections in Scotland, England, Italy, Holland America and New Zealand. I also have a painting in a private Royal Collection.

I attend art classes at Inchgarth Community Centre.

I prefer working with watercolours, or ink and wash, or pencil.

I have a Higher Art certificate and have exhibited at Banchory, Limousine Bull and a few Children First exhibitions.

I work part-time as a florist.

I enjoy life drawing, buildings and carious other subjects.
